We are first-time building, empty-nesters and we would recommend anyone considering to approach an architect, or builder for advice - don’t make that your final stop. The process of building is not a simple one, especially if you are subdividing or changing the use of the block substantially. The matrix of approvals, design vs cost trade-offs are all inter-linked in different ways, which NHBB was always able to navigate us through.
We now have two builds underway with our chosen builder, after having many obstacles from shire approvals, to bank finance hoops to jump through. While NHBB doesn’t provide financial advice as part of their portfolio, their experience from similar client circumstances are always there to simply confer, compare and finally, decide The Best option for ourselves.
When contracting our builder, NHBB was always there to discuss/compare options and make informed suggestions that suit our budget or personal preference. This process is continuous, as the build always throws up different options or considerations along the way. Having NHBB conduct site inspections and keep us informed of the build while we are both working is also a small, yet valuable extension of their service to clients.
