Due to our financial circumstances, we weren't in a position to go ahead with building construction at the present time; however NHBB was extremely helpful in guiding us.
My sister Sharron and I have inherited a pair of 40-year-old strata-titled duplex units in Dianella, one tenanted and the other recently vacated.
As an investment, we were unsure what we should do with the property. The options were to refurbish the vacant unit for a new tenant, sell one or both units, or demolish and build two new units.
I have been employed for many years as the Manager Development Services at a local council in Perth and have extensive experience in local government town planning and building requirements. However I don’t have personal experience of building houses as an investment in today’s market.
We had heard about the service provided by New Home Building Brokers and thought they might be able to assist us in deciding on the option that would best suit our needs. The consultant agreed to meet with us during the evening on two occasions. He was extremely generous with his time, and we related well to him. New Home Building Brokers gave us a huge amount of useful information about designing new homes that would be most attractive to buyers, finding the ‘right’ designer and builder, and new Council requirements about energy efficiency. Above all, NHBB explained that - at each stage of the process - they would be acting as our advocate towards maximising the return on our investment.
We had many queries and the team always provided satisfactory answers. In the end, due to our financial circumstances and the state of the property market, we decided we weren’t in a position to go ahead with building construction at the present time. However NHBB was extremely helpful in guiding us. They gave us comprehensive and unbiased information about the building process and a clearer insight into what is involved. This enabled us to arrive at an informed decision without feeling pressured by a Perth building company
